Uncarboxylated CBD molecules are denoted by an "a" at the end of their name and are found in the plant naturally. These compounds are preserved by ensuring the extraction method does not reach above 118° C (245° F).

Why raw?

There are about 144 different cannabinoids that have been identified in the cannabis plant, CBD is just one of them. Inside of the plant, cannabinoids such as CBD are in their "raw" state, meaning the molecular structure of the CBD compound contains an extra carbon chain at the end. In this form, CBD is referred to as CBDa - the -a denotes it as "acidic." The acidic properties of CBDa differ slightly from CBD but in essence they can illicit the same results in the body.
